i want to re-decorate

erin wasson being her bad self. I really love kitchens like this. For more fun decorating pics, check out a really awesome blog http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/
i really miss domino, which was the quintessential bohemian/slightly urban/thrown together magazine mess of interior design.
So i cleaned my room a few days ago, and it already looks terrible. I also desperately need to do laundry.
Dinner party tonight at our place was filled with wine, banana bread, chicken pasta, and dirty pictionary that M introduced us to. It was fun as hell.
Happy long weekend, and back to the grind. BOOO

le petit

from the sartorialist.
first day of classes. 66 degrees, slightly cloudy. Still in bed...grrrrrrrrrr. At least my hair is long enough so that bedhead looks tousled and messy, not dirty.
new "year" resolutions: dress nicely for class (already gonna fail), and keep room tidy (FAIL FAIL FAIL). It's good to be back

the journey

So I am currently in the car sending out my lost thoughts to my dear observate and our many (haha) readers via le new blackberry. So after a lovely week at the beach down south where I feasted on pulled pork, collared greens and lots of seafood, and eventually got really burned, my flight home got cancelled. In an attempt to get home, the dad decided to rent a car and drive home. His car of choice was naturally a white p.t. Cruiser. The only thing to do really is laugh at the whole situation. I'm feeling sad right now over the uncertainty that lies ahead of me. I'm feeling homesick, as npr plays down home jazzy 20's blues. Some reccomendations to other lonely, maybe miffed bloggers out there: julie and julia which is basically two hours of my two loves: meryl and french cuisine, dress your family in denim and corduroy by david sedaris, and anything by charlie parker. Who needs a lover when you've got them?? Sweet dreams, A

the aviator

So, i've been looking into purchasing a pair of sunnies that aren't 5 bucks from the street and will break in a week. I've gotten so sick of the wayfarer craze, which is unfortunate, because i honestly believe they are quite flattering. I've been thinking about the aviators, which according to my estimations, aren't exactly in style, yet will always kind of be in style. It's the connecticut way over here. Everyone always looks pulled together, but don't really follow any distinct trends... could be nice on vacation while wearing only black bikinis and wide brim hats..
On that note, i was previously looking into a pair of perfectly circular shades, a la john lennon, but then read an article in the NYT sunday styles about how they are the next wayfarer type trend. Blast.
